The ironic thing is that many if not most of those who presently self-identify as “pagan” are deeply devoted to social justice, ecological concerns, and a worldview that is intensely spiritual, and have little use for the consumerism and self-preoccupation that calls itself the “American Dream”.
You make a very good point, and perhaps the author did not fully recognize this when choosing a title for the post.
I actually think we Christians could learn a great deal from the worldview embraced by many who adopt pagan traditions.
